MEET MRS. WRIGHT:
.
Hello! My name is Heather Wright. I have been a teacher for more than 19 years.
I have my bachelor's degree in History and my teaching credential from San Jose State University. I first started teaching preschool in the 90's in the Bay Area. I then taught 3rd grade at a private school in Campbell. My family moved to Elk Grove in 2000. My son was starting Kindergarten that year at Stone Lake Elementary School. I began subbing in Elk Grove Unified School District for the next two years. Then I got a job teaching Fine Arts at Elliott Ranch Elementary in 2002, the year our school opened. The next year, I transitioned to the Kindergarten team and I have been here ever since. I have been our Kindergarten grade level leader for 10 years. I am a district leader for the Math Generation Grant. I participate in several curriculum committees for Math and Language Arts to help support our district and our teachers through professional development.
I am also a consulting teacher for the EGUSD BTSA program for new teachers.
BTSA is an acronym for Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment. What this means is, I coach new teachers
for two years, guiding and supporting them towards receiving their Clear Credential.
In 2016 it was my career highlight to be honored with receiving the EGUSD Teacher of the Year award.
Teaching students their first year of school is an honor and a privilege. The families in the Elliott Ranch area are very special to me. I have the joy of teaching them in Kindergarten and watching them grow through the years at our school. I look forward to another great year teaching YOUR students and being a part of this community and
every student's educational journey.
